Sources expected Houston, Texas, to seek re-interviews with Leslie Frazier of Beals, and Eric Binemi, presidents

The Houston Texans are expected to request re-interviews with Buffalo Bills’ defense coordinator Leslie Frazier and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Binnemi after Sunday’s AFC Asian Championship match, sources reported to ESPN.

Both candidates believed they had a legitimate opportunity to get a head coach position in Texas and began assembling coaching staff should they be hired, sources said.

Fraser is said to have had a tough interview with Texas and had previous coaching experience from his time with the Minnesota Vikings. Benemi is seen in many circles as a head-to-head coach, although he has recently been overtaken by several teams.

As the search for coaches intensifies in Houston, the winning coordinator from Sunday’s match may be the loser in the Texas search, as they will have to wait to hire him. Texas can act faster with the coordinator than the losing team.

This scenario played a major role in Los Angeles Chargers’ hiring Brandon Staley last weekend on Bills Attack Coordinator Brian Daboll. Once Staley’s Rams got rid of the playoffs, Shipper was unwilling to wait for Daboll and hired Staley.

Other candidates interviewed from Texas are quarterback Josh McCawn, former Lions and Colts coach Jim Caldwell, Colts defense coordinator Matt Eberfloss and Ravens coach David Coley’s assistant.
