Marlon Brando kiss and Larry King famous mouthful kiss

The 87-year-old famous broadcaster passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to a statement posted Saturday on his verified Facebook account.

King has hosted “Larry King Live” on CNN for 25 years – giving more than 30,000 interviews, including the long, wide-ranging and sometimes bizarre 1994 conversation straight out of the home of twice-Oscar winner Brando.

Brando, who has not given many interviews, was promoting his book “Songs My Mother Teach Me”

The famous interview ended with the two men singing “I Got a Date with an Angel” and Brando pecking his lips.

Then Brando said to the king: “Baby, bye.”

Wendy Walker, the show’s executive producer at the time, called the moment on Saturday.

“The only time I had problems in 32 years at CNN was when I did an interview with Marlon Brando,” she said. “And we were doing it from his home because at that time he was so lonely and … that was the only way he would do it.”

Walker said that at the end of the 90-minute conversation, it was clear that King and Brando were having fun.

“They kissed the group – and of course you remember that famous kiss. Well, I thought,” Oh my God, this is a TV iconic moment. Well … our lovable and loving president that we love so much, Tom Johnson, called me and said, “Why did you let them kiss?” She said, referring to Tom Johnson, the chairman of CNN at the time.

“And I said, I think I forgot … to tell them that if they’re really having a good time, they shouldn’t be kissing at the end of the show.”

Johnson smiled as he recalled meeting Brando on CNN on Saturday. “Larry King Live” was the only CNN program to report directly to the head of the network.

He said, “It wasn’t just a light kiss. It was a perfect front kiss for both of them.”

Such an event on television was a rarity: in the same year, two men accepted on MTV’s “The Real World: San Francisco” in the first commitment party that was broadcast on American television.

“And I just sat there … ready to sit under the desk. I had a lot of calls from time to time but I knew I would take it then – like I did. But my call to Wendy … was really,” Wendy, why? Why did you let that happen? ”
